There’s a common joke that politicians and meteorologists always lie about the future — and somehow are still employed.
What the joke overlooks is that uncertainty isn’t a failure; it’s a reality. The strongest decisions aren’t built on certainty, but on informed judgment. While no one can predict the future; science, data, and experience allow us to understand risk, prepare for it, and act with confidence.
Ignoring uncertainty doesn’t make it disappear. Planning for it does.

Most of my background is in Western Canada, providing meteorological expertise across both the private and public sectors — everything from early-career forecasting roles to operational meteorology. That range gives me a practical understanding of how weather shapes real-world decisions.
I focus on translating technical atmospheric information into clear, usable guidance for diverse audiences, helping them better understand and manage weather-related risk.
